Luigi and the Forest Ruins Rebooted is a ROM hack made by Mariocrash. It is a complete remake of Luigi and the Forest Ruins 64, a hack made by TheGael95, with all new level designs,.
It is shorter than the original, with 40 stars instead of 50, and uses a regular model of Mario in green clothes and a "L" on his hat, instead of the lanky Luigi model from Luigi's Mansion 64.
There are 40 stars in total, 6 in each main level, 3 in secret levels, and 1 in the finale. There are no 100-coin stars in this game.

- In the older versions, since collecting the 40th star ends the game, the most stars possible to have in a save file is 39. In v3.0, minor changes were added in the ending area: the final star can be saved as a Toad gives it to the player, and the castle doors lead to the end screen.
